Healthy Pecan Pie

This completely Raw Pecan Pie is packed full of goodness and easy to make!

You will need…

For the Pie Crust

1 Cup Almonds

1 Cup Walnuts

10 Pitted Dates (Soaked in water for 1 Hr)

For the Filling

30 Pitted Dates (Soaked in water for 1Hr)

1 Tsp Ground Cinnamon

1 Tsp Pure Vanilla Extract

1 Tbsp Fresh Lemon Juice

Olive Oil to grease


Measure out your Almonds, Walnuts and 10 Dates.

Look at those lovely raw ingredients! Walnuts are packed with Omega 3 Fatty Acids which are known to help lower cholesterol.

Pop the Almonds and Walnuts into a Food Processor until you have fine crumbs (or like me you can use a cute Mini Chopper, I got this for just £6 from Asda!)

Then process your dates and add them to the Nut Crumbs and mix together.

Before transferring your Pie Crust, line your chosen dish or tray (I used an 8 inch glass dish) with a bit of Olive Oil Р this will make it easier to dish up later on!

Empty the Crust Mixture into the dish and press down firmly with the back of a spoon to spread the mixture around.

Press the Pie Crust up the side of the dish too, so that it sticks out slightly above the dish. I also use a knife to make grooves around the edge (to make it look more like a real pastry crust). Now transfer the crust to the fridge while you make your filling.

For the filling, start by processing your Dates into a paste like consistency.

Transfer the dates to a large bowl and add the teaspoon of cinnamon.

Then add the teaspoon of Vanila Extract.

Finally add the Natural Lemon Juice, then stir together to really work the flavours in.

Remove the pie crust from the fridge and transfer the filling into the dish, pressing down with the back of a spoon.

Looking good so far! All you need to do now is add the Raw Pecans!

I love Raw Pecans, they’re probably my favourite tasting nut! Pecans contain over 19 Minerals & Vitamins and are also known for providing “Healthy Heart” properties by reducing Blood Cholesterol.

There you have it, an extremely good for you, Raw, Vegan, Pecan Pie!

This pie tastes so great despite the lack of sugar because of all the natural sugars present in Dates! Thanks to the Almonds, Walnuts and Pecans, this recipe is also very high in Antioxidants, Vitamins and Minerals!
